چکیده

Spin-orbit corrections to superexchange are calculated using the method of Moriya [T. Moriya, Phys. Rev. 120 91, (1960)] for two of the insulating parent compounds of the cuprate superconductors: (1) La2−xNdxCuO4 where the CuO6 octahedra forming each Cu-O layer are tilted in staggered fashion about an axis which depends on x and temperature; and (2) YBa2Cu3O6+x (x ∼ 0.4) where the Cu-O layers form CuO2-Y-CuO2 bilayers in which the in-plane O 2− ions are displaced uniformly towards the Y3+ layer. For (1) a simple formula is derived for the weak ferromagnetic moment in each Cu-O layer as a function of the tilting axis and magnitude. For (2) it is shown that the anisotropic corrections to superexchange are different from what has previously been assumed. For the correct spin Hamiltonian a classical Néel state in which the Cu spins are lying in the plane is unstable in a single Cu-O layer, but when a bilayer is considered there is a critical value of the interlayer exchange coupling which stabilizes this state. For both cases (1) and (2) spin-wave spectra are calculated and shown to compare favorably with experiment.

Superexchange coupling and spin susceptibility spectral weight in undoped monolayer cuprates

A systematic inelastic neutron scattering study of the superexchange interaction in three different undoped monolayer cuprates (La2CuO4, Nd2CuO4 and Pr2CuO4) has been performed using conventional triple axis technique. We deduce the in-plane antiferromagnetic (AF) superexchange coupling J which actually presents no simple relation versus crystallographic parameters. The absolute spectral weight...

Magnetic anisotropies and general on-site Coulomb interactions in the cuprates.

This paper derives the anisotropic superexchange interactions from a Hubbard model for excitations within the copper 3d band and the oxygen 2p band of the undoped insulating cuprates. We extend the recent calculation of Yildirim et al. [Phys. Rev. B 52, 10 239 (1995)] in order to include the most general on-site Coulomb interactions (including those which involve more than two orbitals) when tw...

ابررسانایی در کوپراتهای بهینه آلاییده: برنامه BZA به خوبی کار می‌کند و ابر تعادل چسب است

Resonating valence bond states in a doped Mott insulator was proposed to explain superconductivity in cuprates in January 1987 by Anderson. A challenging task then was proving existence of this unconventional mechanism and a wealth of possibilities, with a rigor acceptable in standard condensed matter physics, in a microscopic theory and develop suitable many body techniques. Shortly, a paper...

Se p 19 99 Underlying Pairing States of High T c Superconductivity

In this talk, I present a microscopic theory I proposed recently to describe high-Tc superconductivity in cuprates. I show that coherent pairing states consisting of extended singlet Cooper pairs and triplet π pairs can manifest both the Mott insulating antiferromagnetic order and the d-wave superconducting order. From this configuration of coherent pairing states, I can describe both the singl...

Dynamic Behavior of Anisotropic Protein Microtubules Immersed in Cytosol Via Cooper–Naghdi Thick Shell Theory

In the present research, vibrational behavior of anisotropic protein microtubules (MTs) immersed in cytosol via Cooper–Naghdi shell model is investigated. MTs are hollow cylindrical structures in the eukaryotic cytoskeleton which surrounded by filament network. The temperature effect on vibration frequency is also taken into account by assuming temperature-dependent material properties for MTs....
